Advanced Placement (AP) Courses

AP courses are rigorous academic programs available to students who demonstrate interest in the opportunity to pursue challenging college-level classes. The College Board’s AP courses are offered in a wide variety of subjects that students can take while still in high school. They offer demanding course work through a college course experience while in high school. Through AP's college-level courses and exams, students can earn college credit and/or advanced placement while standing out in the college admission process. College Board offers a series of examinations in May of each year to students who have taken Advanced Placement course work.

AP courses can help students acquire the skills and habits necessary to be successful in post-secondary education. High School AP course offerings are as follows:

AP US History

Be sure to check each course as some have prerequisites. AP courses are listed in this booklet and on the student transcript with the AP designation. AP exams will be given in May. There is a fee for each examination taken, payable to the Advanced Placement Program. Student participation in the Advanced Placement exam is a course expectation.
