Private Prekindergarten Options in West Hartford

School Readiness Funded Private Preschool Programs

Your child must be turning 3 years or 4 years old prior to December 31st of the year of enrollment to apply for pre-kindergarten in community programs.

Currently there are four NAEYC Accredited community based programs that hold seats subsidized by the West Hartford School Readiness Grant. These programs provide full day/full year programming for young children. Seats on the sliding scale for these programs are LIMITED, they are allocated on a first come, first served basis. To apply for these programs, you can contact them directly and inquire about the availability of School Readiness slots. Families must adhere to the enrollment policies of each program including application fees and deposits. Families interested in utilizing a School Readiness slot are required to meet with a program administrator to complete confidential income verification paperwork and a School Readiness application. The program must use a State of CT sliding scale to determine your parent share of tuition. The four programs that provide School Readiness slots for West Hartford residents include:

Knight Hall School
411 Park Road

Mandell Jewish Community Center
Beatrice Fox Auerbach Early Learning Center
335 Bloomfield Avenue

The School for Young Children at the University of Saint Joseph
238 Steele Road
