Early Closing Information

Due to emergencies, such as unsafe conditions, power outages, or other unforeseen circumstances, it is sometimes necessary to adjust the school day to help ensure the safety of our students and staff. Depending on the situation, this could include a delayed opening, an early dismissal, or a full-day cancellation. Please take the time before an emergency arises to develop a contingency plan in the event of a school delay, early dismissal, emergency closing, or cancellation and discuss it with your child. 

In the event that an emergency dismissal is implemented, the dismissal times will be as follows:

• Elementary schools: 11:45am   
• Middle schools: 11:00am
• High schools: 10:30am

If a parent has a question about an individual bus delay, the best way to obtain up-to-the-minute information regarding a school vehicle’s location is to contact First Student Inc. at 860-953-2030, 860 953-2031. Parents who have children attending out-of-district schools should contact Specialty Transportation at 860-947-2020.
