Bugbee Elementary School

Welcome to Lloyd H. Bugbee School!

Bugbee School is a vibrant, high-performing Kindergarten through Grade Five Elementary school located in a quiet residential neighborhood north of West Hartford Center. Opened in 1950 and added on to over the years, we currently serve approximately 400 students. The hallmark of the “Bugbee Experience” is that all members of our community – our incredibly committed teachers, staff, families, and students, see each other as a true “Family” – heavily invested in the success of every single one of our children. We enjoy all the benefits of being part of the West Hartford Public School system: a highly trained, enthusiastic staff; an outstanding dedication to the use of the best curriculum and teaching strategies; an ongoing commitment to the arts and across the grade levels; and cutting edge assessments and interventions that promote the most successful learning for students across our population.

High scores and public accolades are only one measure of success; the feeling of inclusiveness, connectedness, and kind and caring actions that all members of our "family" demonstrate are even better indicators that Bugbee strives - successfully - to prepare our children for the world around them now, and the world to come in the future.

Please explore our website to learn more about the exciting learning opportunities here at Bugbee and the vast, connected community that makes Bugbee the special place that it is.
